Ein Geschworenengericht im US-Bundesstaat Texas wirft Vizepräsident Dick Cheney Mitverantwortung für die Misshandlung von Gefangenen in privaten Haftanstalten vor. In dem dreiseitigen Dokument, das am Dienstag vorgelegt wurde, wird Cheney beschuldigt, die Ermittlungen zur Aufklärung der Misshandlungen unterbunden zu haben.
Darüber hinaus habe er 85 Millionen Dollar in Unternehmen angelegt, die Profite aus dem Betreiben von privaten Gefängnissen zögen. Hier liege eine “Interessenverquickung” vor, weil Cheney die Vergabe von Verträgen der Bundesverwaltung mit privaten Haftanstalten direkt beeinflussen könne.

Nach knapp einem Jahrhundert nach der Sklaverei gibt es einen amerikanischen Präsidenten, der (zumindest halb) afroamerikanisch ist. Es ist nicht nicht lange her, da durften weder Frauen noch Menschen mit schwarzer Hautfarbe wählen. Acht Jahre lang hat ein ferngelenkter Vollidiot der Welt Tod, Leid und Verderben gebracht. Das ist jetzt vorbei, ein für allemal. Ich hoffe, wir alle werden ihm irgendwann verzeihen können.
Ich bin sehr zufrieden. Hoffnung stirbt nicht zuletzt, sie stirbt nie.
Nächstes Jahr ist Deutschland dran. Ich mache von dem Ergebnis viel abhängig, viel für mein persönliches Leben in diesem Land … oder eben nicht. Ich werde mich aktiv daran beteiligen, daß auch hier ein fulminanter Wechsel stattfindet, und ich gebe auch hier die Hoffnung nicht auf. Aber ich werde das nur bis zu einer gewissen Grenze mitmachen. Das steht fest.

Jemand geht fest davon aus, das es unsicher ist, diesen Mann auf freien Fuß zu setzen. Eine Straftat, die jemand MÖGLICHERWEISE begehen könnte, ist noch keine.
Das alles sind die Gründe, die angeführt werden, weshalb ein VIDEOFILMER vom US-Tribunal zu lebenslanger Haft verurteilt wurde. Das verstößt gegen Menschenrechte und ist illegales Verhalten.
Weiss jemand, ob der nächste Präsident jemanden wie diesen Mann begnadigen könnte?

Wie verhält sich eigentlich jemand vor einem Tribunal, wenn er jahrelang in Guantanamo inhaftiert war und menschenunwürdig behandelt wurde? Hat da überhaupt jemand eine Aussicht auf einen fairen Prozeß?

I couldn’t agree more on this words. Unfortunately my trust in the American people to make the right decision that we ALL need on this planet is at a very low level, if not zero. They have shocked me in 2000 and they even shocked me more in 2004. America was the country ‘where impossible things were possible’ … a sentence that is tragically true nowadays, and not from a positive POV. Where is that great country gone, what has it become? Sorry, but: A desolate piece of shit. Who ever thought a country like America would be able to fuck up the complete planet?
Today my artist friends (and myself) hang at Immigration for hours being treated as potential ‘terrorists’. In the past 8 years the United States of America only brought the worst of things across the globe. We ALL need change more than ever in history!
Get me right: I’m working with US friends and partners all day. 50% of my daily spoken language is English. Some of my best personal friends are American or live in the US. I only see war, war, and more war initiated driven by the USA. And I see a nation burning when McCain makes it (or even dies and Palin gets the job). Believe me, my interest in Obama becoming President is super high.
I hope and pray that Americans do NOT disappoint the whole world. McCain would be the end of America as we all know and remember it.
And before I forget: You should go and arrest George Walker Bush and make him responsible for all he did. Immediately. You’ve waited far too long.

Nun, als ich letzte Nacht die Debatte zwischen Joe Biden und Sarah Palin gesehen habe, erinnerte mich Frau Palin an diese Leute. Wann immer Joe Biden etwas gesagt hat, dem sie nicht fachlich fundiert entgegentreten konnte, kam sowas wie:
McCain und (natürlich) Frau Palin reden ständig davon, das ein “Krieg zu gewinnen” ist. So? Ist er das? Man ist also in den Krieg gezogen bzw. hat in angezettelt, um einen zu gewinnen? Oder ging es um die Freiheit von Irakis und Afghanen? Ich dachte immer, das wäre das Hauptthema. Jedenfalls äußerte sich Bush so.
Ich schlage vor, Frau Palin verbringt mal einen Monat im Irak oder in Afghanistan, zusammen mit kämpfenden Truppen. Vermutlich überlebt sie den einen Monat nichtmal.
3,0 ist nicht stark, aber es könnte ein Vorbote für mehr sein. Das Epizentrum liegt fast mitten auf dem Flughafen (LAX).

Controlling the playing field (hiding info from the public, holding private hearings, and private teleconferencing calls).
Diverting attention and keeping people confused.
Having the goal to privatize gains and socialize losses.
She also blamed Wall Street executives for their greed and held them responsible for the crisis and said
You have perpetrated the greatest financial crimes ever on this American Republic. You think you can get by with it because you are extraordinarily wealthy, and the largest contributors to both presidential and congressional campaigns in both major parties.
She pleaded a “Wall Street Reckoning” and an alternate plan where by “America doesn’t need to bail you out. It needs to secure real assets and property. Federal regional reserve banks should have a new job to help renegotiate mortgages. American people should get equity in any companies. Major job creation to rebuild our infrastructure. Regulate, we need a modern Glass-Steagall act. Refinancing must return a major share of profits to a new social security and medicare lock box.”
Die für diesen Abend Ortszeit (3 Uhr MESZ am Samstagmorgen) geplante erste Fernsehdebatte der Präsidentschaftskandidaten John McCain und Barack Obama findet statt. Weniger als zehn Stunden vor Beginn der geplanten Sendung teilte McCains Wahlkampfteam am Freitag nach langem Zögern mit, der Senator werde nun doch an der Diskussion auf dem Gelände der Universität von Mississippi im Städtchen Oxford teilnehmen.
McCain rückte damit von seiner ursprünglichen Forderung nach einem erfolgreichen Abschluss der Verhandlungen zwischen der Regierung und Kongress über den Bankenrettungsplan ab. Sein Team erklärte, McCain sei überzeugt, dass es Fortschritte auf dem Weg zu einer Einigung über Parteigrenzen hinweg gebe.
MUHAHAHA … von wem hat McCain sich denn - mangels eigener - zwischenzeitlich Eier ausgeliehen?
Again, yes. In one of my recent posts I mentioned ’some’ relations between Sarah Palin as McCain’s VP pick, the Russians and Alaska. Okay, here is why … and I really think this is far from a conspiracy theory:

The oil assholes recognized that they need a new money well for the future since the oil drilling gets more and more difficult to handle. So what about a Gouvernour as a VP of a state that actually HAS this well? No one of those oil fuckers would need problems with a state administration when it comes to drilling rights and stuff like that. And what? The Russians have those deposits as well? Holy shit! THE RUSSIANS??
