This is the official website of the musician, sound engineer, DJ, composer & producer for film & media Ingo Vogelmann. No MySpace, Fuckbook or whatever ... this is a real real deal.
Below this welcome message and the (very important) ads you find Ingo's (multilangual) Blog posts. Also explore the internal pages and (masses of) good stuff in the sidebars to the right and have a nice stay!
Today I recorded a promo set for the artist section of the Jetlag Digital website. I selected many brand new tunes and mixed it with just a few of my favourites of the past - let’s say - 2 years. The 3 hours set will be available for download at the Jetlag site very soon, but before ‘Legend’(1) will be released.
I’m proud to have a very special guest for my next LIGHTWORKS show, a DJane (female DJ) from Lebanon who currently resides in Paris/France. Attention: This show will be 10 hours long! BeeBux plays 2 hours between my 2 x 4 hours.
Read some facts about her
BeeBux grew up in Beirut, Lebanon surrounded by music. Her career started through Rock and Metal music in cover bands on guitar and bass, then on percussions.
Mostly influenced by Pink Floyd, Radiohead and Massive Attack, she discovered electronic music in 1997 in France where she currently resides. But it wasn’t until early 2006 that she decided to begin DJ’ing. She didn’t hesitate to blend in her oriental roots onto progressively bassed house music while experimenting many other genres in her mixing journeys.
In parallel to that BeeBux started her EM productions and is still faithfull to being a musician by working along French artists in the capital.
This is NO Remix Contest but an OPEN REMIX ACTION! Every remixer may feel free to join this project. Simple as: Every good remix will be released (via L2 Music) together with the single original version, worldwide in any possible online store before Christmas 2007. No winners or losers. Make a good remix and you’re in the game.
The track is called “Mundus Vult Depici”, featured on the third chapter of the GOD Quadrology (last track in that chapter). The original is quite progressive rock but also an electronic ambient tune. It’s really a challenge for dance remixers (for instance) since the original tempo is 80 BPM. You’ll have to decide whether to timestretch the remix parts up or down. ATTENTION: Before you wonder about, the original does not contain an explicit bassline, so no remix parts on this one! There are lots of low frequencies but no real bassline.
You are totally free concerning style, length, tempo or keynote. Any idea is welcome! Your deadline is October 31st 2007. You have four weeks from this post on. This may be a lot of time. After finishing your remix, please, upload a 320 kbps MP3 somewhere and send the download link to mail(at)l2music(dot)net. This email would not make any sense if it would not also contain your FULL CONTACT DATA, plus a good pic of you (for promotional purposes).
Click the artwork to download the 208 MB (zipped) remix sample pack which also contains an MP3 of the original version, the artwork and a readme.txt:
If there’s only one thing I’d like to ask you for: PLEASE, give the best you can! Don’t even think about throwing a remix into the game that did not force you to a max and all your abilities. Show me what’s inside of you!
It seems like once a year I sit down and write an epic progressive tune, like “Ararat” last year. It’s time for a new one.
Listen to a 3 ½ minutes demo snippet of “Angelic” here »
(Please, keep in mind that this is a DEMO snippet. The production isn’t finished, yet, but I wanted to give you a picture of what it’ll be like.)
Details about the release of Angelic is totally unclear, so the date is. I’m on a level of my own evolution where I think about NOT releasing everything via L2 Music. There’s a handful of labels out there who are working good, especially when it comes to promotion. I think I really will send the finished mixes to some people I know in this industry, to some of the small indie dance labels who are thankful to receive some really good piece of emotional music.
If there’s anyone involved in label biz reading this (and having heard the demo above): Go present your ideas on this to me. I’m totally open-minded as long as you are able and planning to do a really good promotion.

Thanks a lot. Good reverbs are hard to make, so it’s nice to have some more presets to work with. ‘The Animal Gated Drums Verb’ is just what I’ve been trying to make.

I already mentioned here or there, I’m working a new progressive dance tune at the moment. The working title is “Into The East”.
I guess I will finish it by the coming week and begin the promotion and caring about remixes then. I think I will make it an open remix thingy like with the 2 tunes before. This concept seems to work very good IMO! (Ah yes, I know I have to take care about the release of this last 2 tracks including remixes … will do soon!)
“Into The East” is very progressive, kind of minimal (for an IV tune), deep, dark but beautiful, floaty, mid-tempo, lovely ethno vocals (!), punchy kick, tribals and bassline, nice sound fx here and there, atmospheric textures and pads playing around, tight leads … just a perfect progressive tune for me at the moment. And of course it’s a long track. I dunno the exact duration now, we’ll see … I think I’ll make different mixes with different lengths. The original mix is a very good template for a breaks mix as well!
Concerning the remix parts I will only upload the most significant sound elements but no drums. And the parts will be totally “dry” (no effects behind).
Be prepared! This tune already IS ROCKING like hell! I do not accept any other chart positions as #1’s everywhere.
Used tools:Reason 3.04, celemony Melodyne 3 (vocal treatment), I use Melodyne as host rewired with Reason.
Tip: The new Flatpack 2 Refill is AWESOME! And no SO expensive (50 British Bucks). Give it a go! Outstanding Combinator patches and sounds directly from heaven.
Flatpack 2 is entirely self contained, but the modules can also be used to add new life and possibilities to the instruments, samples, and kits in the original FP1. For example, we have 3 band Rex Dex players for playing FP1’s Hi/Mid/Lo categorised loops. If you’re new to Reason or to the work of Flatpack Productions Limited, feel free to download some freebie demos from our site.
Mike Oldfield - legendary musician and record producer video interview at his private recording studio
Hehe. Hoho. Apart from the really huge and high end (redundant) mixing desk this looks quite like my Moonsun Studio. Mike must have seen it on flickr and listened to my records thinking “I go and have to make that Vogelmann music” …
Mike looks not good. His eyes … he really looks like an alcoholic in this footage. Don’t be angry Mike. I don’t mean to fu*# you up with this words. Can’t wait to hear what you do with all this nice technique.
The world of musicians know Ingo Vogelmann as “the man with three ears”. His sound and the results of his mixing and Mastering is well known as absolutely outstanding. So why accept hassle with unsatisfying sound results?
Give your mind and ears a rest and let Ingo give your track a fresh listen from a new perspective!
Mastering is the process of assessing finished mixes and then making the necessary enhancements to produce a finished products, which is then ready for replication or a pressing plant. The goal is to achieve an all around complete and balanced mix, that will sound good on everything from a boom box to an expensive system.
Are you unsure of your monitoring system? Are the acoustics of your room throwing you off? Allow Ingo to mix your track for you in an acoustically controlled environment.
Mastering DJ mixed sets include: Full Automation if necessary. Automated EQing, Automated Leveling, Automated Noise Reduction & Track Indexing (if requested).
Early production stages » If you’re at the early stages of your production and feel things aren’t working, feel free to send Ingo a reference CD of your song for a free evaluation. Ingo may determine a problem that can be fixed before the final product.
Note: Please keep in mind Mastering can only improve a good product. It can not fix poor mixes, mushy tracks or bad arrangements. I.e. If the kick drum sounds great but the bassline is very muddy, there will be issues getting them both to sound good together in the mix.
