Ein unbekannter Spender hat einer notleidenden Stadt in Pennsylvania 100 Millionen Dollar vermacht. Der Wohltäter, der sich nur als “anonymer Freund” bezeichnete, gab das Geld an die Stiftung der Gemeinde Erie mit dem Auftrag, es an alle 46 Hilfsorganisationen der Stadt zu verteilen. Eine Erklärung zu allen weiteren Fragen nach dem rätselhaften Geldgeber lehnte der Präsident der Erie Community Foundation, Mike Batchelor, ab. Er habe sich zu absolutem Stillschweigen verpflichtet, sagte Batchelor.
