Today I recorded a promo set for the artist section of the Jetlag Digital website. I selected many brand new tunes and mixed it with just a few of my favourites of the past - let’s say - 2 years. The 3 hours set will be available for download at the Jetlag site very soon, but before ‘Legend’(1) will be released.
On Wednesday evening, June 25, Germany and Turkey will meet in the semifinal round of the 2008 European Football Championship in Basel, Switzerland. Various cities in Germany have set up viewing areas for the public to watch the live broadcast of this game. The “Fan Mile” in front of the Brandenberg Gate in Berlin is expected to draw up to 500,000 German and Turkish fans, Frankfurt am Main will host a public viewing area at the Rossmarkt, and Munich is setting up a large public viewing area at the Olympic Stadium where 30,000 fans are anticipated. Similar events are planned in other cities and spontaneous celebrations or demonstrations related to the match may occur throughout Germany.
Because of the high fan interest in this prestigious semi-final elimination game between Germany and Turkey, there exists the possibility that disturbances, including violent disturbances may occur before, during or after the match, which begins at 20:45. At a minimum, post-game celebrations will likely result in traffic congestion in larger cities. Crowds celebrating previous German and/or Turkish victories have blocked streets and rocked vehicles attempting to pass through them.
We remind American citizens in Germany that even mass gatherings and demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and possibly escalate into violence. American citizens are therefore urged to avoid the areas of demonstrations if possible, and to exercise caution if within the vicinity of any demonstrations. American citizens should stay current with media coverage of local events and be aware of their surroundings at all times.
Miranda offers career advice to Abraham Calling in from his training camp in Puerto Rico, super middleweight contender Edison ‘Pantera’ Miranda chuckled when he was read the latest statements from his June 21st opponent, Arthur Abraham, who stated that in their highly controversial first bout in 2006, if he failed to beat a man who had his jaw broken, he would have taken a job as a night watchman. “I agree with you Arthur, if it was a one-on-one fight,” said Miranda of the first bout, one marred by questionable officiating. “Unfortunately for me, I was fighting you and the referee, and most people who saw the fight still believe I won. This time, I’m not trusting anything but my fists, and I will knock you out,” continued Miranda. “So, as a fellow competitor, I suggest that maybe you should start shopping for your patent leather shoes and uniform, because you’ll be doing that night watchman job by the end of the summer. I think you’ll be perfect for it, because when something happens, you don’t have to do anything yourself - you can just call for help. Our first fight showed that you’re good at that.”
Big big words, loser. How come you fell after the 3rd good punch by Arthur after 1:37 min. in the 4th round? I’d say: Welcome to your new job as a night watcher.
No boxer should make the mistake to underrate Arthur Abraham. Arthur will also knock out Kelly Pavlik between the 4th and 6th round next year in January or February. There is no better middleweight boxer at the moment. And Oscar de la Hoya will fall, too.
