This is the official website of the musician, sound engineer, DJ, composer & producer for film & media Ingo Vogelmann. No MySpace, Fuckbook or whatever ... this is a real real deal.

You heard Ingo's own music somewhere or as a DJ live or on the radio and loved it? You should subscribe to the vogelmann Gigs Feed by either ... subscribe in a reader or subscribe to vogelmann Gigs by Email to never miss a gig!

Below this welcome message and the (very important) ads you find Ingo's (multilangual) Blog posts. Also explore the internal pages and (masses of) good stuff in the sidebars to the right and have a nice stay!

Dear robbers

A little bit of advertising ...

… of my work @ MercuryServer, Nightclubber, AllDJs and all the other shit:

Is it so hard to ask me? Is it so complicated to understand that I ask you for nothing more but CREDIT and RESPECT? You think you’re a sexy and tough guy when you actually STEAL my work? You think you have more friends with doing that?

Read my lips: S I M P L Y. A S K. M E. This is not so complicated. I have no problem with sharing my sets, really not. But I have a problem when you do not post a link to ingovogelmann.com (or l2podio.com, at least) and friskyRadio.com (or the club I have been playing at, talking about live recordings). Sharing my music is part of my intentions, music has got to be shared for everyone. STEALING is not part of my intentions.

Again: Is it so hard to understand? What’s wrong with you?

Update

Very interesting to see who’s visiting this post, and from where. :D

Now playing on friskyRadio » Outside The Box - 18 November 2008 - Eelke Kleijn » Tune in!

Whats wrong with them? They are retarded morons that think its actually OK to steal. I would love to visit their house one day and just take whatever I want, because thats what they think: that its OK.

Are you paying royalties to all of the artists tracks that are featured in your mixes? Have you given a penny to any of these artists?
Shiloh?
Habersham?
Greed?
Nick Muir?
Subsky?
No?

Ok.
Please drop it. Maybe you should work on your film and television producing career. Fighting message boards over this shit is a true sign of desperation. Maybe a donation button on your site at the top will help a bit?

Check the update on the post. :D

@ suprememoves: You shouldn’t talk about things you’re NOT into. All those people you mentioned above are MY COLLEAGUES and FRIENDS who DO WANT ME TO PLAY their music out as much as I can. Same goes for the respective labels. So don’t tell me about paying royalties, I’m an artist for more than 15 years myself, label manager, producer, DJ … and I also want my music to be played out like that.

You think you have a right to argue like that and to steal whatever you love to steal? You should shut your fucking mouth about things that are not your business, Mr. Chief Psychologist (”desperation”).

I’m known for my kindness with people all over the world, but:

You are a cheap and silly fucknut, nothing more.

I’m not here to pick a fight, and I don’t speak for anyone but myself. I troll around online at a variety of sites looking for non-commercial/royalty electronic mixes. In general, when I see frisky sets around, I see them posted with frisky and the artist clearly listed so that everyone knows who and where it is from. And there are of course tons of posts with artists of every kind, which list the artist name, venue, site, date, etc.

My points are this:
1. when a file goes out on the internet, it is virtually impossible to stop it from being shared among people.
2. people generally do give credit to the artist, venue, label, etc. They may not give the exact link to ALL THREE of your preferred links, but your name is there and the set date and source…I’ve seen that posted much more often than not, because people want to know who and what they’re listening to.

You absolutely have a copyright to the work that you do, and it should never be misrepresented as other than your work. And if it is a commercial release, then you absolutely have a right to go after people who share it for free. But do you really need EVERY single person from every forum in every country around the world to email you before they make a post with one of your music sets? You’d get like a million emails if everyone were to literally do that. It’s just not feasible.

You can fight against the fact that your music might be posted on various sites without every poster explicitly contacting you for permission, but it is a bit like fighting against the wind; you’re not going to win. So you have two choices:

1. Continue to fight and be forever frustrated.
2. Be grateful that people actually WANT to listen to your music and accept that it will be shared in many different forums. And if there are particular instances of plagiarism, blatant lying, or stealing of commercially released music that you come across, fight against those.

best wishes to you.

MV, thanks for your comment. This is a niveau of discussion I can accept. I do not have to have the same opinion to respect what you think about it. You know mine. All said.

I just think I have EVERY right to publish my opinion about my works being shared without even asking me or friskyRadio for permission. This is my site, my server and my responsibility and I have no problem with standing to what I say in publicity instead of assholes doing all this anonymuosly.

I have set up the PODIO for the people to download my works FOR FREE and permission is given by offering that SERVICE which is only extra cost and work for me. So, why doesn’t anyone just link to the PODIO or (most appreciated!) to the friskyRadio Subscription site (or best: BOTH!) instead of ripping the shows and grabbing fame and roses for themselves? Do you all have an idea what it means to run friskyRadio or what it means to me and my DJ colleagues to make all those shows??? I really LOVE doing that but I feel spat in my face when I see all that shared sets instead of properly crediting and linking to the sites of the people who create and broadcast them! This is not okay and I have no understanding for people who actually THINK IT’S OKAY.

Example: A few days ago an Ibiza Radio station asked me kindly if they are allowed to play out one of my friskyRadio sets and telling a bit about me, my work and my shows on friskyRadio. THIS IS WHAT I CALL A PROPER, RESPECTFUL AND PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOUR!

You should learn from that.

you are a dipshit. like someone said before, if its on the internet, say goodbye. you get enough credit for having your name on the set. do you credit all the producers of the tracks individually after each set? act as you preach dumbass. fuckin nazi

Terminator wrote on June 25th, 2008 at 23:04

one more thing… maybe you should make your site a little more user friendly. why would someone want to link to this fuckin mess

The only Reason why I approved your comments is because it speaks for itself.

BTW, I’m Jewish (”… fuckin nazi …”)

My two bits… I’m a music producer and I absolutely love progressive & edm. I have several ‘disc jockey’ friends who listen to the trendsetters and their mixes, then go buy them from Beatport and mix their own sets.

Just one question - if someone takes the tracks you’ve mixed (I know you call that your work, but I’d rather call your original productions that :-) ) and mixes them into a fresh set we then have two identical sets that sound alike. So technically, that means that you don’t have exclusive rights to the music, do you?

Logically, someone can take your set, remove all possible information about the artist name, date, title, radio station etc and fill in his/her own details and upload it as a fresh set and put it up for download!!

I would actually appreciate someone who’s taken my ‘piece of work’, tagged it to ensure the source and the artist are promoted, and that no one is mistaking my work for someone else’s. Trust me when I say that majority of your fans have first heard you first through a P2P download or file-sharing website. There may have been several countries you’ve not visited yet, but still have a huge fan-following there. These people aren’t misusing your work. They just want more of you. They’ll gladly pay money to come watch you perform LIVE, but most of them won’t pay on the internet because…

1. A lot of people STILL believe money transactions over the internet are not safe
2. Why would someone pay for something when there are possible 100000 other places where they can get the same piece of work for free

Mercuryserver is probably one of the most organised and legalised (at least it appears to be) websites that I have seen that regularly promotes the radio stations from whom the DJ sets are shared. The members look up to you and you’ve surely disappointed them

Come on, talk!
